The Law Offices of Karen S. Monrreal was established in 2017 with the sole purpose of helping immigrants around the world in their efforts to achieve the American dream in the United States.

Attorney Karen S. Monrreal and her team are committed to helping immigrants in America. 

Ms. Monrreal is the founding attorney and CEO of the Law Offices of Karen S. Monrreal. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is admitted to the Nevada State Bar. Ms. Monrreal is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), an organization whose membership consists of over 14,000 attorneys who practice in this field of law.

As a mother, daughter, sister, lawyer and leader in her community, Karen’s compassion is coupled with her commitment to help raise immigrants up, give voice to them, and protect those who need it most. Through her many years of volunteer work in and around Nevada, she has been able to work with people from all different walks of life, cultures, and communities. By listening and advocating for those in her community, attorney Karen S. Monrreal has acquired the skills and experience necessary to develop focused legal strategies for her clients.

Our practice is limited to immigration matters. We help our clients seek immigrant and non-immigrant visas, permanent residency, and citizenship in the United States. We also represent clients in deportation proceedings and endeavor to keep families together.

Kelly Lauber

Business Manager

Kelly has been an Office Manager for over 10 years, with over 20 years of administrative experience in Human Resources and accounting.  She will graduate with her Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Paralegal/Law.

Kelly has been a long-time resident in Reno, Nevada since 2001.

Edna Herrmann

Legal Assistant

Edna has worked as an Immigration Legal Assistant since 2008. Previously, she worked as a medical services consultant and owned her own catering business. Edna was born in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.

(Edna handles Adjustment of Status, TPS; I-130; Waivers; Consular Processing)

Nancy Fletes

Legal Assistant

Nancy is a Legal Assistant with over three years of experience in secretarial/ clerical work, college education and auditory. She is fluent in Spanish. (Nancy handles National Visa Center cases, N-400, I-90 Renewal, DACA Renewal)

Yara Jimenez Munoz

Legal Assistant

Yara began her employment with our office in the role of receptionist, gradually advancing to the position of a legal assistant and now handles U-Visas and T-Visas. Currently, she is diligently pursuing her paralegal certificate. She really loves her job and enjoys and treasures the time she spends with her family.

Mikaila Lauber

Paralegal

Mikaila is a paralegal who has been working in law for over 3 years with experience in family and criminal law matters and now immigration . She has an Associates Degree in Paralegal/Law from Truckee Meadows Community College (and is certified by AILA American Immigration Lawyers Association. Mikaila was also born and raised in the Reno Area.

Ruth Gomez Martinez

Legal Assistant

Ruth is a first-generation graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She has worked as an immigration legal assistant for a little over two years and truly enjoys making a difference in people’s lives. Ruth is an active church member of a Christian congregation where she participates with hymns by singing and playing musical instruments such as guitar and violin. She also likes spending time with family, shopping, and baking. Her chocolate chip cookies are the best!

Sandra Aquino Lezama

Receptionist

Sandra is our receptionist. She was born and raised in Reno, before moving to southern Indiana for 15 years. Sandra attended college for Secondary Education/History in Columbus, IN and has completed a combination of 12.5 years of customer service between banking, retail and clerical office management. Sandra enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends both here and in Indiana. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, listening to music and traveling.
